I’m going to continue to#TitanUp.

Ryan Tannehill to AJ Brown, TOUCHDOWN TITANS! I was fired up in the stands last Saturday afternoon when the Tennessee Titans scored late in the third quarter to tie the playoff game.

I get caught up in the moment when I’m watching sports, especially my favorite teams. So when Brown cradled that ball in the endzone with one hand, I started yelling, and I don’t know what I was saying; I was rejoicing. I love the Titans, and I get excited when they’re doing well. When they’re losing, I get angry.

I know my aggression is not for everyone, and for people who are not passionate about sports, it may come off insane. My mom and brother told me the videos I posted on Instagram were insane and looked crazy. I was screaming, and spit was flying from my mouth, probably not the best look, but there were at least 60,000 people at that game, and all the Titans fans were just as excited.

There’s a time and place for everything. I wouldn’t shout expletives in my grandma’s living room or a crowded restaurant, but inside a football stadium, I was right at home, free and excited.

I was at my first-ever playoff game and the second Titan’s game. I had my fair share of Yuengling beers, and that touchdown bought us closer to a return to the AFC Championship.

I am competitive, and my affiliation with the Titans goes back 22 years. I have seen them do everything except win a Super Bowl — I’ve seen them lose one, though.

Sports is about winning, and if you don’t win the Super Bowl, nobody cares. So I remember every playoff loss. I remember where I watched every one of the games, I’m competitive, and I don’t particularly appreciate losing. So I suffered through over a decade without a playoff appearance dreaming about playoff wins. I watched 18 quarterbacks in 23 seasons, most of them God-awful. So forgive me for being excited.

To most, it’s just a game. I agree with that to an extent because it is just a game I want to win.

So when I’m surrounded by 60,000 people who are also screaming, I’m camouflaged. So I fit in with my surroundings. Maybe I should not have posted on Instagram, but I want my friends to see me enjoying myself.

Call me insane, but that is literally what a fan means. It’s short for fanatic, defined as a person filled with excessive and single-minded zeal.

So when I’m in a stadium filled with thousands of screaming fans living on the edge of their over-priced seats in 30-degree weather and a spot in the championship is on the line, yeah, I’m going to scream. I’m also going to cuss cause that’s what I do, and that’s what people who invest hundreds of dollars yearly into their favorite teams enjoy doing — letting loose.

Until September, Titan up!
